Prenatal Yoga is an 8 week course specifically designed for pregnant women in their second trimester and upwards. It offer adaptations of classic Yoga postures suitable for pregnant women’s bodies. Through deep breathing and relaxation techniques pregnant woman connects with her baby, her body and prepares for the labor and beyond.
Research suggests that Prenatal Yoga can: • reduce stress and anxiety • improve sleep • calm the nervous system • promote physical and emotional balance • increase blood circulation • decrease lower back pain, nausea, headaches and shortness of breath • increase strength, flexibility and endurance of the muscles needed for childbirth.
What we value most is the physical and emotional nurturing of pregnant women so that they can approach labour and birth with clam confidence, energized from a vibrant core strength and with full use of their breathing capacity. “Mothering the mother” is an essential foundation for a woman’s ability to nurture her baby.
